I really want to write at least one post every week, in between the Extra Staples posts, but alas, I failed this week. And I was so proud of myself for having succeeded in April! It is what it is though. Maybe I will write TWO posts this coming week. *gasp*

The Queen of Cards | USPS Stamps
An interview with Anna Bond  of Rifle Paper Co., a stationery company I really like. I’ve long admired her work ever since she came onto the stationery scene, so this was an enjoyable read. 

5 months in with the Hobonichi Techo — The Finer Point
It’s always interesting to see how other Hobonichi fans use their Hobonichi and what they think. And I totally get it when Jenny of The Finer Point says:

Running your hand over used pages you can feel the indentation of the ink on the page and you get an old crinkle paper noise similar to what you may get with a newspaper. It's a small thing but I don't get this experience with any other notebook I own.

My Hobonichi is starting to look more worn out, too. It looks thicker from the side, because of various layers of tapes I’ve added and crinkled pages. I love it.

Field Notes made at AIGA Austin Design Ranch 2015: one, two, three, four

Midori MD Notebook Covers in paper and genuine leather
These are new to me! I really like MD notebooks, and these covers look like they will age nicely. I just wish they came in darker colors!

Paper shop - Paper decorations & Stationary - IKEA
Did you know Ikea has stationery goods? Again, this is news to me. So when I went to Ikea recently, I made sure to check them out. I saw some notepads, memo books, pens... and found them kind of lackluster. They had cute paper clips, tapes and gift wraps though.

Robert Prins's contribution in “Cloud Life: Adobe x Mama’s Sauce x DDC x You” Poster
It’s a follow-up! In my last Extra Staples post, I mentioned the collaborative poster project led by Aaron Draplin for the HOW Design Live conference in Chicago earlier this month. Robert Prins is a fellow Field Notes fan (and my Instagram friend!), and this was his submission that made it into the poster. How neat is that! Congrats, Rob!

Mr. Tatsuya Tanaka’s miniature photography is always so creative and whimsical, and this one just made me love his work even more. Anyone here a fan of Hayao Miyazaki’s Castle in the Sky? I ♥ this movie. It’s one of my favorite films of all time.

The latest Erasable episode features an interview with Bryan Bedell of Field Notes. A must listen for any Field Notes fan. One of my favorite parts was Mr. Bedell saying he carried Shelterwood in his pocket for a few months to test out the cover's durability. How awesome is that?

The Pen Addict #152: A Hot Mess of a Pencil - Relay FM
An episode all about mechanical pencils! I know most of the mechanical pencils I've used in the past are pretty basic and on the juvenile side, so if I ever want to upgrade, I'll be sure to revisit this episode.

The Original Field Notes — The Finer Point
I spend a lot more time focusing on the Field Notes Colors here, but I really like the Original kraft Field Notes, too. They are as versatile and fuss-free as Field Notes will ever get.

Delfonics x 60 years with Miffy
In celebration of the 60th anniversary of Miffy, Delfonics made special Rollbahn notebooks with various Miffy designs on the cover. SO CUTE. I did not grow up reading Miffy books but I find the characters really endearing. I remember catching the animated show on TV while traveling in Japan and just being glued to it like a kindergartener. Heh. Of course, it seems these Rollbahn notebooks (which I really like btw) are only available in the retail heaven that is Japan. But it's still fun to see (read: drool on) them on Instagram. If you’re in Tokyo, you might want to check out a wide range of Miffy goods at Matsuya Ginza department store before May 10, 2015.
