Here are the results from some Instagram polls that I conducted during the month of April, featuring Mile Marker. Mile Marker came out in late March 2019 as the first quarterly edition of the year from Field Notes, and as soon as I received my subscription package, I had to do these polls to see what people thought. I found this edition to be just okay (I was more impressed with the national highway map, to be honest) but what did my IG followers think?
Coastal vs. Mile Marker

Winner: Coastal (66%)
The first match I thought of was Coastal, considering they share the map theme. As I expected (and rooted for), Coastal came out the winner. Both editions are Spring editions printed with holographic foil but I find the design in Coastal more pleasing.
America the Beautiful vs. Mile Marker

Winner: America the Beautiful (71%)
Another Spring vs. Spring! I did not plan this. America the Beautiful just happened to be another edition that I thought was thematically similar to Mile Marker. What I didn’t expect was the decisive win by America the Beautiful. I thought AtB was one of the under-appreciated editions, and that there’d be some bias towards an edition that’s shinier and newer, but it won by the biggest margin among the groups in this post. Not complaining, since AtB is one of my top favorites.
Three Missions vs. Mile Marker

Winner: Three Missions (60%)
Another pairing with Americana. I guess, after two losses in a row, I wasn’t surprised that Three Missions won. I rooted for Three Missions but not by much.
Campfire vs. Mile Marker

Winner: Campfire (65%)
Another result that surprised me a bit.. I expected this to be a closer race, at least smaller margin than with Three Missions because I thought Three Missions was more popular than Campfire. But there you have it! This was another tough choice for me, but Campfire was also my pick.
It’s not looking good for Mile Marker so far, is it? Obviously, there are more pairings with Mile Marker that are possible, but that’s it for now.
What are your reactions to these polls? Did your favorites win? As I’ve said in my previous posts, these results represent only a small percentage of Field Notes fans, people who follow me and happen to view my Instagram Stories at the right time, etc.
